KUALA LUMPUR, 31st May 2014 — The vision was simple. Create something that was unique, infuse all our experiences, dreams and expectations and let the story be told through the finished product. Seri Chenang was built from scratch, its logo, its concept, its beauty. And at the end of it, we hoped it would flourish to be known as something that wows it's visitors just through experiences and the stories that lies within it.
We expected it from the beginning, it will not be an easy task for a brother-sister team to accomplish something that have never been done, being young and without the expertise in developing, building and managing something so unique. It was all challenging but exciting and exhilarating. Everyday we realize and fulfilled our dreams with the help of small capable team and people who believe in us. Not many people did believe, especially when our principals emphasized on true quality, no shortcuts, no name-favours, and age does not matter in accomplishing what we believe.
Not only did we accomplish something but it went further beyond our expectations, building the brand to be known around the world, reaching thousands. People saw and experienced, filled their hearts through stories from every little detail of the resort. We received and maintained excellent reviews. The resort was also home to royal families, dignitaries, celebrities, corporates and families. We were privileged to have these guests. Who would have expected for a new and fresh boutique resort to gain exposure and recognition from the industry particularly by Hospitality Asia Platinum Awards 2013-2015 Malaysia Series where we won two accolades: HAPA Concierge Excellence Award and HAPA Public Relations Excellence Award, and to top that, the more recent TripAdvisor Excellence Award 2014.
On 30th April 2014, a change of ownership of the property changed the future of the Seri Chenang brand, relinquishing our hopes to see the full potential of what it could've been. Seri Chenang would cease and desist it's name by 1st June 2014 to make way for a different management, a new concept and hopefully a better future.
We would like to thank those who were involved from the very beginning of our journey with Seri Chenang Resort & Spa Langkawi, and hope the whole experience have been as memorable as it was for us. For Shukor and I, it will not be the end of our journey but a new beginning for better things to come.
Seri Chenang remains our legacy.
